Coal tablets are a long-established medicine for diarrheal diseases, which can be caused by nonspecific bacteria or toxins.
There are many causes of diarrhea: stress, spoiled or unfamiliar food and drinks with ice cubes (eg in holidaymakers where the quality of the drinking water is questionable) can bring the digestive system out of balance. The intake of heavy metals or certain medicinal products can also lead to diarrhea.
