Qara’ ‘Asali is an Egyptian pumpkin pie. Unlike pumpkin pies, this one is very different because it doesn’t contain elements of a pie. It is a mixture of pumpkin, butter, milk, flour and sugar. This pumpkin delight is baked to total sweetness. This pie has no crust. It is sometimes eaten with heavy cream and garnished with pistachios.
